Message from the Vice-chancellor for Educational Affairs

Dear visitors,

On behalf of the faculty, staff, and current students in School of Health, I welcome you to the faculty. This site serves as a focal point for all educational affairs at the faculty and provides investigators with the necessary information and resources for educational services.

Paying attention to the quality of education, extending postgraduate courses in educational services, and increasing the number of faculty members and educational facilities is one of the top priorities of this deputy. The Vice-chancellor for Educational Affairs at School of Health is determined to provide a boost to the creative talents of young people in order to turn the School into a referral center in various scientific fields. Our students in all departments make efforts to improve health in various sections in our province and the surrounding areas. We look forward to seeing you all here at School of Health.

The postgraduate education management was begun in Kavar in 1984. Therein, undergraduate students were trained in public health and medical studies under the name of Kavar Health School. This institute took over the name of School of Public Health in 1989 and was moved to Shiraz. At this time, in addition to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, she accepted students at various degrees in health sciences. The increasing capacity of the faculty to admit post-graduate students has entrusted student admission to college courses in the peripheral schools in the counties of Fars province; i.e., Lamerd, Abadeh, Estahban, Darab, Sepidan, and Mamasani. In this way, the faculty has not accepted high diploma degrees from the beginning of the first semester of the academic year 2008-2009.

In 1986, with the permission of the Board of Directors, the university changed the name of the faculty to School of Health and Nutrition. From June 2013, the Department of Nutrition was promoted with the consent of the University and was renamed as an independent faculty named Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences. The increasing capacity of the faculty for admitting graduate students led the University to transfer courses to faculties in some of the cities of Fars province in south of Iran. Today, a significant portion of the 17549 m2 land of the School of Health has been dedicated to the expansion, construction, and reconstruction of the educational environments where students of different levels in divergent fields of study are engaged in scientific and research activities.

Future Strategies

In future, the educational services intend to set up other fields related to education groups at School of Health, and expand the existing courses in PhD levels. Direction to applied research and emphasis on research needs based on community needs in the theses and dissertations of the existing disciplines are future management plans.

14. Increasing executive skills by updating the apprenticeship program within the scope of authority

15. Establishing the platform for admission of international students in the context of the law of the university
